High Fuel Prices- You Ain’t Seen the Elephant Yet

Nationalization of the Oil Companies has been suggested by the Left. The coming increases in fuel prices will be has already started the talk.

Liberals can’t wait to get ahold of this nations energy supply system. Representative Maxine Waters has already let the cat out of the bag what the goal of the Liberal Left really is. As she grilled the President of Shell Oil, angrily she responded to a response about increasing new oil production:

And guess what this liberal would be all about. This liberal will be about socializing … uh, um. …”

The congresswoman paused to collect her thoughts.

“Would be about, basically, taking over, and the government running all of your companies. …”

Even though this isn’t really surprising, what it reveals is far more indicative of what liberals really want. The ultimate goal has been and will continue to be a complete dependence on government by the masses. When prices continue to rise and this economy continues to fail, the call from the public will increase to nationalize the oil industry,  the coal industry, and any other industry that produces or processes fossil fuels.

When government controls the energy, controls the price, and dictates the amount you or I can use, they have achieved the goal of a complete, total, and voluntary surrender of personal liberty and freedom. Simply look south to Venezuela and you can see the low price of fuel. This is the rallying point of liberals and the success that they point to as what this nation would achieve given nationalization. What they also fail to tell you is that Hugo Chavez is a brutal and vicious dictator and allows few freedoms to the populace. Sadly, the hopelessness of the people is only revealed once they manage to escape this regime.

My grandmother would tell me that “you ain’t seen the elephant yet”. She was right. I have stepped back and looked very carefully at what I am beginning to see with the beliefs that the Liberals are revealing. The global warming swindle, the call for non-existent alternative energy initiatives, the obstruction of new supplies, and the call for nationalization of energy are all inner-twined into a massive effort to bring this nation under the direct influence and control of the select elite that will govern this nation.

Only when the voice of the people cry loudly and with the call for government to get out of the way of private and public industry will the energy crisis be solved. Reagan said it best when he made the statement that “government isn’t the solution to this nations problems, but is the problem”. Simply look at the endless and almost insurmountable regulation of any energy producer and you begin to understand the depth and breadth of the obstacles government has gradually placed in the way of this nation becoming energy independent. In some respects, it appears to be a complete and long term effort to bring this nation to it’s knees economically in an effort to gain complete control over an industry that has served this nation well. Imagine the results had government cleared the way to solve the problem rather than create laws that has led TO the problem.

If you succumb to the temptation to allow government to “socialize” the oil industry, you are going to be no better than those who did the same in every socialist nation that is still around today. The carrot is being dangled with a promise of lower fuel prices. But that carrot is laced with a far greater and more powerful poison than you could ever imagine possible. If you value your liberty and freedom to make personal choices in your own life, then take the time to take action.

Tell Congress they are offering bad ideas and making bad choices to attempt a takeover of the energy of this nation. Tell them you love freedom far more than you love empty promises. Tell them you are watching their votes. Tell them you have a vote too.

Socialism? Isn’t that a polite term for special interest?

Fact is, I could care less by which means gas prices are returned to where they should be; even the Arabs don’t know where the inflation is coming from…

Curious; does anyone know where to get the instructions for building one’s own, private, fuel supply? There was a guy selling them back during the last fuel crunch…

    Greg,

I think socialism refers to the collective efforts to remove the wealth from this nation, turn it over to government, and then re-distribute it according to the need of the individual. That is the danger of socialism and of nationalization of any business or industry. You remove the wealth creation ability from ANY level of society and you have control of that and any related industry or business. THAT is pure socialism and even more so, Fascism.

This is exactly the method Mussolini captured the Italian people after WWI and Hitler as well. You “do it for the good” of the “nation” or state. Look carefully at world history and you can see the same identical efforts then as you are seeing today coming to fruition. “Do it for the good” of the “nation”. Sound familiar?? It should.

No mattter what you think, the PROBLEM today is with a too restrictive government control over energy and the efforts to allow the free enterprise system resolve the problem. Too much regulation that has been supported by special interest is a bit different than socialism, but ultimately could lead to the same result; a collectivism that has government running the show rather than the PEOPLE running the show.
