Has MSM Journalism Become the “Propaganda” Machine Similar to Nazi Germany?
Unless you haven’t noticed, the MSM journalists are now the Left Wing propaganda machine. Willingly, they support, extol virtue, and report no ill about Liberals. The propaganda machine of Hitler was identical. He killed 6.5 million innocent people with the full support by his media of the lies he told too.
Now I have to ask you if that opening heading is a bit strong? Well, I really don’t think it is because I have a good understanding of the way Adolph Hitler came to power in Germany. There was a time in the 1920’s that Germany had a free and open press. They reported facts and they reported good and bad on everyone and everything in the news. Opinions were left on the Editorial pages and identified accordingly. News was reported and not turned into a “feature story” that made one look virtuous as it destroyed another. Headlines encouraged readers to read the story and not draw the conclusion based on the first paragraph.
Look in the major newspapers today and any reporting about Sen. Obama is slanted in his favor or his errors of judgement is totally ignored. Good examples are his associations from his past. Journalists are totally ignoring them, passing them off to you as unimportant and irrelevant to this election and telling you that they are to be ignored. “Obamamania” has swept the journalistic medium so much so that reporting relevant facts are detrimental to Obama’s chances to be elected, hence, the reporting of glowing opinions within news stories that editors approve willingly and encourage demonstratively about Sen. Obama. There is also a totally biased reporting of any and all opinion against the opposition as facts. It is the goal to print and report a total destruction of someone asking questions, or report any misspoken word or sentence as an “indictment” of unreliability of the opposition. The only examination of Republicans is negative while their examination of the Left is in glowing and supportive terms and content.
The Right to Free speech is guaranteed in our Constitution. Scholars agree that a free and open press falls directly under this First Amendment right and it’s preservation is vital to liberty and freedom necessary for this nation to survive. However, with this vast and unbridled freedom also comes a vital and important responsibility and that is to have all facts presented fairly and without opinion. When opinion of a journalist becomes the printed word as a fact, then no longer are we experiencing the freedom of press, but rather the spread of propaganda that destroys the very fabric of our nation. It was the use of this form of propaganda in the late 20’s and 30’s that allowed Nazism to rise to the power and world domination they briefly enjoyed.
Look at any newspaper or television news show today. We are not seeing a fair and non-judgemental reporting of news. What we are seeing is a journalistic viewpoint that is fully supporting the election/selection of one Senator from Illinois as your next President. The destruction of any Republican opposition is without a doubt the ultimate goal of the publication or television news show deemed as the main stream media. These attacks range from the sublimed to the demeaning and destruction of Republican candidates with a bias that is unmistakeably Left-sided.
We have a press and media that is self-destructing because of their violation of their First Amendment responsibility. Yes, they have the RIGHT to express any view they desire, but to place the public trust at risk with opinions rather than facts will allow those in power to silence the objectivity or even the appearances of objectivity of the main stream media. Silencing the opposition is the apparent goal of the media, yet to do so opens the door to a complete and deafening silence of those who object, even from the media reporting fair and objectively. Those in power who control the press also control the minds of the people and can claim power that is not going to be taken away easily.
We as the PEOPLE of this nation must demand our journalists to be fair and objective. Opinions need to be left at the door, or put on the op-ed pages. We are raising a nation of children who are not able to determine which is fact and which is opinion reported as fact. Opinions do matter but are seldom objective. The media must be held accountable for their failure to report fairly and openly. Unless we do, then we are subject to the tyranny from our government and the silence that results. Control of the media by any faction results in the spreading of their propaganda without examination by those entrusted to do so.
Liberalism will destroy this nation from within. With the main stream media and the press on their side, it is without a doubt, going to be an easier job then you might imagine. When every policy, every program, and every idea Liberalism breeds without any opposition voice to express concerns, our nation will fall prey to the same fate as Nazi Germany- a nation lead by those desiring nothing less than dictatorial power and fed by the lies and protection of the press.
You, as a citizen of this country need to DEMAND from our press and our media nothing less than accuracy and facts replete of opinion reported as fact. The opinion is the propaganda you are lead to believe as being facts. It is time for you and I to send the message and it is a simple thing to do- stop buying the publications and watching the programs who fail to PROTECT the responsibility they have under the First Amendment of this nation. To do anything less is a direct assault on this nations one separating right we have from the rest of the world and allows freedom and liberty to live on.
The daily “indoctrination” by our media outlets is criminal, but not prosecutable. Yet, within the court of public opinion, it can be restrained once again to reporting the facts and reporting fairly and without bias. That is the way we preserve our rights we have and we better cling to them as if they are a loved one being taken away. Otherwise, we are going to be another nation that fell to the propaganda machine the fueled the Nazi’s in Germany to all consuming power.
This may be my opinion, but it is also an opinion that is backed fully from the annuls of history.

Yes,i have stopped watching the msm because it is so unfair and it gets disgusting when the pundents are actually going out of their way to laugh at a candiate that is trying to bring up facts about obama which could affect the security of the country.eg. his associations with marxists, communists , terriosts like ayers and his wife and all the corrupt and anti- american people. when does promoting the left at all means possiable in this election and the demeaning of an honorable man like macain who thinks of only his country and it’s safety become a butt of laughter?the media has a responsiability to give the people of america the truth and the objective views not their personal agendas. haven’t they learned anything ?they fell lock step with bush and never questioned anything ,they brought out people to tear down people who knew that things were wrong and they didn’t want to look unpatriotic.now it is reverse they are pushing a candiate who should never have passed the first round in the primary because his life of choices in the corrupt friends that he said he chose carefully.
I wonder if you could show me any examples of media outlets that were as alternative in view to the Nazis as Fox News, Christian Broadcast, any number of conservative commentators and websites, News papers, Talk Radio etc. are to Barack Obama? The fact is that Fox is MSM. Rush is MSM. Michael Savage, Christian Broadcast Network. and many other shows on CNN, CBS, and even NBC have conservative shows and are part of the MSM. Newsmax articles regardless of their truthfulness get filtered and debated within the MSM. We all know about Ayers, Wright, Rezko, etc. These things came up and were addressed in the Democratic primaries that you apparently paid no attention to. Your website alone is proof that we do not live in anything like Nazi conditions.
Gov Palin has refused interviews to this point because she is unwilling to be “filtered” by the media. She was introduced very late in the game and I must admit even though I have tried I know very little about her. Anyone who has question her has been accused of sexism. Anyone who has suggested she should answer questions normally asked of a VP candidate is being accused of treating her too harshly or asking “gotcha” questions. She has accused anyone who sees the world differently than her is unpatriotic, un American, or not a part of the real America. She has question other Americans values as inferior because they come from big cities. She has suggested that people who are inquisitive or seek the facts undermine America.
If anyone wants to claim that there is an aspect of Nazi Germany about this election I would suggest we look at a couple of things.
There must be transparency. Obama has stated what his relationships were. You can believe him or not based on his answers. Palin has not even submitted herself for serious questioning.
There must be respect and understanding for differences of opinions or opposing views. Obama was respectful of Joe the Plumber. Obama has been respectful of McCain’s service and has left the qualifications of Gov Palin to the voters to decide. Palin has suggested that people who see things differently are “unamerican”, “unpatriotic”, and “socialist”. She has suggested that those who disagree lack values. She has even used the lowest of all Nazi tricks, the accusation of guilt by association. She said “Obama pals around with terrorists” (plural, without suggesting anyone other Ayers, when no one has accused him of having anything more than a limited relationship with Ayers. They are not friends).
The final two aspects of the Nazi machine was the limitation to alternative sources of information. While accusing Obama of getting the benefit of the love of the press the Republicans have attempted to isolate their own followers by suggesting anything but the party line is tainted, biased, and untrue. Even when its own outlets have completely verified the same facts.
Also, in one final Nazi technique, The Republican party has sought to preempt and to nullify the results of a future election by claiming that it will be stolen or purchased, and trying to suggest the candidate has done something immoral or illegal to win. They have made the most wild speculations and conspiracy about groups, who while well intentioned,make honest mistakes. They have then tried to connect Obama to this group by the thinnest of connections and then tar Obama with the same brush without any evidence of wrong doing.
Well let me see here. NYT has a hit piece on Cindy McCain this past Sunday. Front page no less. Fair? Hardly.
CNN interviews Gov. Palin with another “gotcha question” and TOTALLY taken out of context. The SENTENCE written, used as a question, was questioning the REPORTING by journalists as bias. Instead, it was turned to make Gov. Palin seem “stupid” because she hadn’t read the comment. Fair?
NO reporting on Obama’s full and tainted relationship with Ayers, Rezko, Khalidi, Rev. Wright, etc. What has been exposed? NOTHING on the MSM, OTHER than what Obama CLAIMS. Yet, every alternative source exposes more and more every day. Is THAT on the front page of the NYT or on NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN??…nothing I have seen.
It is NOT HONEST nor BALANCED from the MSM. To claim otherwise indicates that either you live in a cave or are really very biased yourself.
The words Patriotic, American, and values have meanings much larger than you imagine. Please don’t bring up the whole Nazi schtick without examining your own motivations and actions first.
You are so right and it is truly scary! I am so glad we have Fox news and talk radio or we would have no voice in this country. But I do not believe that we will end up where Germany did because this country is so incredibly divided. There is an all out culture war in the US and it has reached fever pitch. The media will go back to reporting in a more balanced fashion after the election. An article today revealed that the big three (ABC, CBS, NBC) have each lost 500,000 viewers this year compared to this time in 2007 (this is on Rush’s site or drudge I dont remember) so the American people are voting with their remotes. Many Amercans recognize bias when they hear it and get sick of it. Atleast on FOX they let the left voice their persepctive the other networks try to stifle conservatives or have either incompetent or radical righties on their networks. One last improtant thing to recognize is that the media can’t hide some facts because they are so self evident. As a result when the Democrats fail in the congress two years from now the RNC will recapture the majority. The US system of governance is ingenious and above being subverted even by the left wing leaning media.

Sean Hannity calls himself the “Stop Obama Express” and openly talks about “Hannitizing the vote” and yet he decries “2008 as the year journalism died”.
He repeats the same phrases every show, over and over and over (especially in his radio show), until it’s ingrained in public consciousness as truth.
All at once people who’ve never been in a socialist country, could not even identify what socialism looks like are calling people “socialists” for voting for Obama.
Rush’s contract is $400 million for 10 years, Sean’s is for $100 million for 5 years, O’Reilly’s negotiating for $10 million a year. And if you really think that money is raised through ad revenues, I’ve a got a bridge to sell you…
I’ve been watching some of the stuff that has been happening at the Palin rallies–and thanks to Hannity who I think is the most virulent–I’m seeing mob behavior I never thought I’d witness in this country. It’s scary to me–and I’m a white Christian woman.
It seems obvious from your name, Think, you haven’t done much of that very task required to comprehend. The article reflects on the fact that once our MSM gets as biased as they have become, they are ALSO subject to the same restrictions those in power wish to impose.
In case you haven’t heard of the “Fairness Doctrine”, it would force the opposition voice from radio and television. What party supports this??…Democrats.

I’ve been watching Politics since 1960 and the Press was always pretty fair, they were never in the Tank for anyone. Today is just absurd, MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS and NBC are all Obama Cheerleaders. They all covered the big endorsement by Gen. Powell on Sunday, none of the questioned anything Powell said. Powell said about Ayers “Move along, nothing to see here” and they all give him a pass. Wouldn’t you think just one of those Networks would tell you the truth? Not going to happen. They wouldn’t have to do any work if they wanted to tell the story, just go to the READERS ARTICLES section of REALCLEARPOLITICS and start reading. From everything I have seen it looks like Obama and Ayers were almost joined at the Hip for years, shared a Office for over 3 years, appeared together many times, Ayers even put Obama’s name IN PRINT in his 1997 Book “A Kind and Just Parent”, Page 82. I guess the people of the MSM no longer have a DUTY, they just have a job.

Rush and Hannity cannot be compared to the MSM because their agenda is openly conservative-that’s what they are- conservative talk radio hosts. The MSM is supposed to bring the facts to the public, not their personal opinion.
It’s so obvious the MSM is protecting Obama. Networks and newspapars want to make money-they usually do that by reporting all the juicy stories. Obama and Biden could keep the MSM busy with their comments and connections, yet they choose to ignore it, but still continue to investigate and attack Palin. How can anyone say we don’t know enough about Palin? She’s even handing over her medical records-she’s an open book!
Yet Obama has the nerve to complain about his poll numbers-saying they would be better if it weren’t for Fox! They would be a lot worse if it weren’t for the MSM protecting him.

Well said…one can even see in the American Idol situation how Kris Allen, a Christian, has been persuaded to chastise Christians for voting with their Christianity in mind along with the mind-bending MSM… “I hope the Christian vote doesn’t influence the outcome”…huh?!…why.. they have no problem w/the homosexual vote influencing Adams outcome… or the satanists that delighted in his out their chilling versions of edgy songs (often sounding like one would expect the howlings from the pits of hell to sound) influencing outcomes…and genderbending appearance… So its become that anything the MSM has propagandized as being “accepted”…the new morality (tolerance, diversity, multiculturalism and overt sexuality)…which has replaced (responsibility, integrity, morality) …these are no longer the values our children are taught to seek in this new world order. The MSM use every opportunity to promote the “tolerance” crowd as worthy and traditional/moral Americans as intolerant and evil and unworthy…using every opportunity to promote this thinking that only things that promote their perverse values can influence society/culture…lwhich is why they were so outraged that Kris Allen, a Christian, could win… also things like Supreme Court Judge candidates cannot be too Christian or conservative…marginalization of the good values and proliferation of evil and their new world order values.

I knew Nazi Germany’s intended use of the television medium as a conduit for propaganda was not new. Nor has its primary purpose as such been diluted, nor completely controlled, by either major political party or affiliation known in this nation.
