In spite of what you may think Sen. McCain, reaching “across the aisle” isn’t going to win this election. Telling the American people WHO is responsible for this financial crisis, and what PARTY they belong to will win this election. Pandering to Independents will only alienate them farther left. This is war, Senator McCain- WAR!
I know in my heart of hearts, that Sen. McCain will never read this article, but in the back of my mind I can only hope that he does. This is a time when America needs leadership and it needs it in a way in which we all want to know WHY our lifetime of savings is going away, the value of our homes is in the tank, and whether or not we will have a job on Monday morning. Reaching across the aisle is NOT what we want to hear. We want you to name names, tell the facts and tell us that the danger of keeping the Democrats in office will result in more than rough times, but another economic DEPRESSION of a magnitude that will make the 1930′s look like a cakewalk.
Americans are very smart people. Those of my generation lived through the Carter era and are thankful of the fact that we could only stomach four years of his brand of liberalism. We need to be reminded that the Carter plan for economic growth resulted in higher taxes, an inflation rate in the double digits, and increased energy costs that were unheard of in our times. We saw jobs go away, unemployment at staggering rates, business and industry close shop and the creation of the “rust belt” in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. This was all at the hands of Democrat policy and Democrat control of Congress that took America to the brink of financial disaster.
When President Reagan was running for office, he didn’t reach across the aisle in his campaign. He didn’t even reach across the aisle when elected. What Reagan DID do was stand firm on his principles and beliefs and never let the opposition sway him from the courage of his convictions. In less than a year from taking office, America was proud once again. Taxes were lower and inflation was under control. There was no mention of the “misery index” again that was popular during the Carter years. Reagan did what few Presidents would do. He named names and he called ‘em exactly as he saw them.
You have had very vocal Conservatives trying to tell you these past couple of days that we are tired of the ducking and dodging of Obama’s character issues and his associations. We want ALL of America to hear the truth and to hear the facts about your opponent. We want you to tell us about his involvement with ACORN and with Fannie Mae and Freddie Macs former CEO’s and what they managed to do to the mortgage industry and how they took millions in income by promoting a plan that led to this disaster. Tell us exactly WHO in the Democratic party blocked attempts at regulation of these GSE’s and what Sen. Obama gained financially from them. Tell about the Barney Franks, the Chris Dodds, the Nancy Pelosi’s, and Harry Reids that blocked and moaned at the thought of regulation of a very bad lending program created by Democrats. Tell them who passed the Community Reinvestment Act that caused this meltdown of home values and mortgages that were sub-prime and not being repaid.
We want you to tell us about Ayers, Rezko, and other Chicago mob-style political associations of Sen. Obama. He is taking every chance to duck and dodge direct questions about these associations as well as with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and his radical views of America. These are the people who have shaped his political life and his political career into a run for the Presidency of this nation. You, Sen. McCain need to call his bluff and actually hound him for answers to these associations.
You also need to tell Americans what his tax and spend plan will do and how it works. Tell us what the Obama taxes on businesses will do to small business owners and even to large corporations as they did during the Carter administrations identical program. You need to tell America that Sen. Obama isn’t really “for” new oil exploration and hold his record up before the people in this area. Ask Sen. Obama to tell the American people where the money will come from for this TRILLION DOLLARS of new spending. We want specifics.
Explain that the Obama health-care plan will destroy the very fabric of the finest health-care in the world. Confront him again on his business health-care fines and how many Americans will lose their employer sponsored plans. Explain that perhaps, this is in reality, Sen. Obama’s real idea- to force this nation into a socialized, government sponsored health-care system similar to other European nations.
It is time to not just take off the gloves, but it is time to roll up the sleeves and plan to get a bit bloody. Holding back the truth from Americans isn’t making you an honorable candidate, but will cost you this election. You can’t let Sen. Obama get away with his same “stump speech” without getting into the specifics of his plans. Call his bluff and question his true motives. Don’t be afraid to use a very famous quote that I offer below:
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened.”
– Norman Thomas, American socialist
Tell all Americans that this nation is heading in that direction and that this is the point of decision for this country to remain a nation of free and liberty loving Americans, or face the evils that Liberalism offers. Point out the failure after failure of every single Liberal program and the need to “fix it” over and over and over and the burden and strain funding those programs have placed on every single American family and individual. Tell us that adding more to the pot to keep funding under the Obama plan is going to cost you even more in taxes and income. Show that the 95% tax reduction plan of Sen. Obama can’t fund his spending plans. Make him tell the truth to the American people.
Now, Sen. McCain, this ball is in the pitchers hand and he is winding up for the pitch. You know it is his hardest, nastiest pitch and you anticipate it coming. Will you swing at it with the accuracy of the leader of your team, or will you simply stand there and let it go past?
We are your umpire and we are going to call it fairly. We will do this on election day and we can work as Americans, together, to make this nation one we hand to our children and grandchildren that was better than it is today. You are still at the plate and you still have a pitch remaining.
Hit is out of the park, John. It’s time for the homer you know how to hit. Your chance is in the next debate.
